Accessibility & inclusion
Our accessibility commitments
Equity, diversity and inclusion are practical promises, not slogans. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
In our meetings and programmes
- Venues are checked for step-free access, seating and accessible toilets before any programme is confirmed.
- Notices are shared in text, audio and image form so members using screen readers or with low vision can follow.
- Sign language interpretation is requested for national gatherings, and members may bring a support person at no cost.
- Members are never asked to disclose medical details to belong; self-identification is enough.
- Complaints about exclusion or discrimination are treated seriously and reported to the National Coordinator.
On this website
- Every page can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, and a “skip to main content” link is provided.
- Photographs carry descriptive text so screen reader users receive the same information.
- Text and background colours are chosen for strong contrast, and text can be enlarged in your browser.
- Pages are built mobile-first, since most of our members read on a phone.
- Animation is kept minimal and respects your device’s reduced-motion setting.
